The availability of controls on the ribbon may vary, according to the view (thumbnail or Page view) that is active. The beauty of the new ribbon is that it needs no explanation. Every feature and function it gives access too is immediately obvious and self-explanatory. Common functions such as delete page, views, resetting pages are now fewer clicks away.
This section covers:
Thumbnail view Ribbon contains groups of controls: View, Rotate, Edit, Rescan, Reset, and Merge. The number of tabs that you need to use will vary, depending on the type of documents that scan.

Select Jobs
Lets you to select a predefined scan jobs.
Edit Jobs
Lets you to add or edit a predefined scan jobs. A Scan Job gives you access to settings such as color mode, resolution, and paper size as well as OCR setting, define auto file name and select document separator. Scan profiles help save time, because they give you a convenient way to save and reuse preferred scan settings.
View
Lets you to view the scanned pages by selecting Page view from the ribbon to view one page at a time, or Thumbnail view to view all the pages at once.
Rotate
Helps you to rotate the selected pages to 90 degree to left or right.
Edit
You can use the Edit group of controls to cut, copy, paste or delete one or more pages.
Cut: Cut the current selection to the Clipboard.
Copy: Cut the current selection to the Clipboard.
Paste: Paste the Clipboard contents after the current selected image in a document.
Delete: Following controls are available under Delete group
To delete a single page
•In the viewer, select the document that you want to delete.
•Go to Delete group, click Delete Page.
The selected document is deleted.
To delete multiple documents
•In Document tab, select multiple documents in one of the following way:
o Hold down the Shift key, and then select the first and last consecutive documents that you want to delete.
o Hold down the Ctrl key and select the non-consecutive documents that you want to delete.
•Go to Delete group, click Delete Document.
The selected documents are deleted.
To delete from the selected image to the end of a document
•Select a document.
•Select the image that follows the image that you want to become the final image in the document.
•Select the Document tab and go to Delete group, click Delete Till End.
The selected image and all subsequent images are deleted from the document.
Splitting Documents
You can use the Split control to divide a document into two separate documents.
To split a document
•In the viewer, locate the document that you want to split into two separate documents.
•Select the image that you want to be the first image in the new document.
•In the ribbon, click Split.
The selected image and all subsequent images are moved into a new document in the viewer. The selected image becomes the first image in the new document.
Rescan
You can use the Rescan group of controls to rescan or insert selected pages within a document or multiple documents. When you rescan pages, the newly scanned images replace the original images in the selected document(s). The scanner stops after the selected pages have been re-scanned or inserted.
The Rescan group consists of the following controls:
Replace only selected pages
Use the Replace control to replace the selected images in the selected document.
To rescan selected pages
•Select the document that contains the pages that need to be re-scanned.
•In the thumbnail viewer, select the images that represent the pages you want to rescan. If desired, you can select images for multiple documents at once.
•Place the pages to be re-scanned in the scanner. Be sure to arrange the pages in the same order in which they were originally scanned.
•Select the Document tab and go to Rescan group, click Replace Selected button.
The pages are re-scanned and they replace the selected images in the document.
Insert Pages
Use the Insert control to insert pages into the selected document; they are inserted before the thumbnail image that is current in the document.
To insert pages in a document
•In the thumbnail viewer, select the image that will follow the images that you are about to insert.
•Place the affected pages in the scanner.
•Select the Document tab and go to Rescan group, click Insert Pages button.
The pages are scanned and inserted before the image that is selected in the thumbnail viewer.
Replace the first selected page
Use the Replace the first selected page control is a rescan and insert operation; when you rescan, the first selected image in the thumbnail viewer is replaced and the remaining images are inserted after the first image.
To rescan pages to Replace the first selected page
•Select the first thumbnail image .
•Place the pages to be re-scanned in the scanner.
•Select the Document tab and go to Rescan group, click Replace the first selected page button.
The pages are re-scanned. The first page replaces the page that is selected in the thumbnail viewer. The remaining pages are inserted after the selected page.
Reset Annotation
You can undo the editing actions and restore the document to the state they were in when the image was scanned
Undo: Click on Undo button to undo the editing action step by step.
Rest Document: Click on this button to undo all the editing actions at one go and bring the document at the original stage.
Merging Documents
You can use the Merge with Previous and Merge with Next controls to combine existing documents.
To merge a document with the previous document
•In the viewer, locate two consecutive documents that you want to combine.
•Select the second document.
•Go to the Merge group, click Merge with Prev Doc button.
The selected document is merged with the previous document to form a single document.
To merge a document with the next document
•In the viewer, locate two consecutive documents that you want to combine.
•Select the first document.
•Go to the Merge group, click Merge with Next Doc.
The selected document is merged with the next document to form a single document.
•When you delete, merge, or split documents, the remaining documents are automatically renumbered to ensure that sequential numbering is retained within the batch. |
Page view Ribbon contains groups of post scan controls to improve the images output: Image Correction, Clarity, Color, and more.

View: Lets you to switch between Page view and Thumbnail view.
Rotate : Helps you to rotated the selected page to 90 degree to left or right.
Delete: Helps you to delete the selected page.
Image Correction: In the viewer, select the image and use the following controls to apply corrections:
Despeckle: Use the despeckle removal filter to delete unwanted black pixels from image automatically.
Deskew: Use the Deskew to automatically straighten an image that is skewed.
Crop: Cropping lets you change the image so only the selected area is visible. Select the image and drag the border to select the part of the image you want to be show.
Remove Border: Use Remove Border to remove black borders from a black and white image.
Erode: The Erode control enhances the dark areas of the image.
Dilate: The Dilate control enhances the light areas of the image.
Negate: The Negate control will invert the image to look like a photo negative. This basically means the colors are opposite.
Erase: Use the Eraser tool to erase areas of your picture. Click an eraser control, and then drag the eraser over the area of the picture that you want to erase.
Clarity: In the Clarity group, you can apply corrections that affect the clarity of the selected image.
Contrast: Change the Contrast setting by adjusting the slider. The Contrast setting affects the amount of difference between the lightest and darkest areas in an image.
Brightness: Change the Brightness setting by adjusting the slider.
Gamma: Change the Gamma setting by adjusting the slider. The Gamma setting affects the conversion of light intensity into pixels.
Color: In the Color group, you have controls to control the color modes. Click one of the following color modes:
To B&W: The will changed and save the scanned images in black and white. The file size for a black and white image is considerably smaller than it is for grayscale or color images.
To Grayscale: The will changed and save scanned images in grayscale.
RGB: You can apply correction to any one of three color components: Red-Green-Blue.
Reset: You can undo the editing actions and restore the selected page to the state when the image was scanned.
Annotation: You can add annotation to the scanned page by highlight the select area.
Redact: Redacting a PDF file allows you to hiding sensitive information keeping your document's formatting intact.
oChoose Redact tool from the toolbar
oDraw a rectangle around the desired portion that you wish to redact. A blur image will be drawn over the selected area. You can undo the current redaction using the
Undo button before saving the document. Note that redaction is burned into the image and will become permanent once the document is saved so when this PDF is shared with other people it will never show up the redacted information to them by any means. However you can get back to the original document by reverting to the document's earlier version if needed.
Image Cleanup: Following controls are available under this group
Edge Fillup: This tool allows you to change or fill up page edges with the desired color. This is useful to remove black edges placed around a scanned page by some scanners.
oUse Setting from Edge Fillup drop down menu to set the color and margin for the four sides of the page borders
oThen click on Edge Fillup button to fill up page border edges with the desired color
oSelect Apply to All from Edge Fillup drop down menu to fill the page edges on all pages
Remove Punch Hole: This tool allows you to remove punch hole marks from document.
oChoose Remove Punch Hole button to remove punch hole marks on the current page.
oSelect Apply to All from Remove Punch Hole drop down menu to remove punch hole marks from all the pages in the document
The following table lists the viewer controls that are available below the ribbon in Page View.

Pan: Click to move the position of an image that does not fit entirely within the viewing area. |

Zoom selected area: Click to select and magnify a rectangular region of the image. |

Select area: Select the area to copy the selection to the clipboard. |

Fit Screen: Click to fit the entire image into the viewing area. |

Fit Width: This button lets you decrease the size of the image to fit the width of your window. |

Navigate Doc: This control will display the total number of documents and will allow you to navigate between the documents. |

Navigate Pages: This control will display the total number of pages in a document. You can quickly go to a particular page using first, previous, next or last button. |
Zoom Scale Slider Control

A slider control is used for increasing or decreasing the magnification of images in the viewer. This control is available in both the viewer i.e Thumbnail and Page view
oTo increase the magnification or zoom in, move the slider to the right.
oTo decrease the magnification or zoom out, move the slider to the left.
