Opening a PDF File by using Check Out feature

PDF documents stored in Docsvault can be viewed in Docsvault PDF Editor. They can be opened for editing by Check Out and then the changes can be saved by Check In.

Using the Check In and Check Out features ensures that documents are not overwritten by you. This feature also enables you to monitor the complete edit history of the document.

To open a PDF file

Select the PDF file you want to open.
Right click to display the popup menu. From the popup menu, click on Check Out.
You can open the document in the associated application for editing or you can choose the appropriate program from the list.

For information on how to open documents to which security rights has been applied, see Opening PDF document with security restriction.

Note:

You can set Docsvault PDF Editor as a default application for editing PDF file from Tools > Options > Check In/Out.

A checked out document has a 'lock' image superimposed over the original icon.
