The Managing/Watching node lets Managers and Watchers of any workflow view and administer all instances of designated workflows.
They can get the answers to the questions such as:
•Who started this instance of the workflow?
•When was this instance started?
•When did the last action in this instance occur?
•Which workflow step is this instance at currently?
•Note the overdue tasks and many more things...
They can use this analysis to locate bottlenecks in a workflow process or to determine whether a group is meeting the performance targets for a given business process. While the workflow is running, Workflow Managers can monitor progress and make adjustments like transitioning the workflow to next steps, delegating the current workflow task to another user, changing participants and due date of current step or canceling a workflow.
Members of the Watcher role can only oversee the progress of a workflow instance but cannot perform any administrative action.
