Using External Indexes

Previous topic Next topic Topic directory requires JavaScript

To implement external metadata indexing, you need to first define primary and secondary indexes while creating Profile in Docsvault Server Manager dialog. See the previous topic for details on creating Primary and Secondary Indexes.

Then assign the profile to the cabinet/folder to make it available while indexing document under that folder or cabinet.

Using External Index fields

Select a Profile from the drop down list while importing files in Docsvault desktop or web client application

Select or enter the index values. If the index field is defined as primary external index then the advanced profile component searches a specified external database field for a matching value and display them in a list from which the user can choose.

Once selected, automatically all secondary depended index fields gets populated. This can significantly speed up indexing and prevent errors.
