AI Capture is the data extraction component of DocAI. It automatically extracts data from documents and populates index fields during import. It reduces manual data entry and improves document filing accuracy. DocAI's AI Capture works with profiles to identify specific fields such as invoice number, client name, dates, and amounts. Extracted values can be used for indexing, file naming, document notes, and dynamic filing.

DocAI currently supports PDF documents and runs during the import process.

The extraction is based on AI Capture settings configured for each profile.

When a document is imported:

•AI Capture reads the document content

•Identifies configured fields

•Extracts matching values

•Applies configured post extraction rules

•Populates index fields

•Applies filing template (if configured)

•User reviews and imports document

AI Capture supports structured and semi-structured documents and works with profile-based configurations.
