The Services node allows you to start and stop various Docsvault services.


Server Name:        

Displays the host name of the local machine. This name can be used to connect the Docsvault clients to this server.



This will display the different services used by Docsvault along with its status. Note that you may not see all services in your instance depending your edition of Docsvault.  


Docsvault Server: This is the basic service that is responsible for transferring files to all clients upon request. This is an essential service without which Docsvault will not function.


OCR Service: This service is used to convert imported and scanned PDF images into searchable PDF files. This service is only necessary if you have purchased the optional OCR add-on. You may stop/disable this service if you do not use the OCR feature. For more options on scheduled OCR process please see the OCR node.


Docsvault Jobs: This service monitors specified 'Watch Folders' and automatically imports files at regular intervals. You may stop/disable this service if you do not use the watch folder feature.

Docsvault Alerts: This service handles sending out various email alerts set within Docsvault.


Docsvault Email Capture Service: Captures emails and attachments from various email accounts


MS SQL Server (Docsvault): This service in only displayed if you let Docsvault install the SQL Server Express database on the server during installation. For installations that use user specified databases, this service will not be visible. If visible, this is an essential service and should not be turned off.




Logon As


The Logon As column displays the account under which a service runs. All Services in Docsvault are configured to use the default local settings. Users can change the account under which any service runs (to access network share or resources) by clicking the Gear Icon (Change Logon icon).
This following setups warrant changing the service logon type from localsystem to a windows user who has proper access for the required network resource.
- Backup on a network shared folder - change the logon type for 'SQL Server (Docsvault) Service
- Setting network folder as a 'Watch Folder' - change the logon type for 'Docsvault Jobs' service

- Using Active Directory Authentication - change the logon type for 'Docsvault Server' service

Logged in Users

Docsvault maintains a log of all current logins and displays the total current users logged in under this heading. Clicking on the Details... link will display a detailed log showing the username, computer name, computer IP address and log-in time for all current successful logins.



Click on this button to completed close the Server Manager dialog. Note that exiting from the Server Manager dialog does not affect the working of Docsvault Server.


Log Out

Click on this button if you want to log out of the Server Manager.
