Create a new folder

For example:

Neil has already created the cabinet 'Accounts Payable'. He wants to create two folders 'Invoice' and 'Purchase Order'. These folders will contain files such as Invoice, Checks, Return Orders and Credit Memos for the company's clients and vendors.

In the Tree view panel, select a cabinet under which you want to create your new folder.

Bring up the New Folder dialog box in one of the following ways:

On the File menu, click on New Folder

Or

Right-click on destination cabinet/folder from tree view or list view panel to get the popup menu. Click on New

  Folder.

Or

Right click at an empty region in the list view panel, below the list of documents to display the popup menu.

  Click on New Folder.

Or

Click on the icon on the tool bar.

Create a new folder

After providing folder name and description, click Advanced button, to set folder profile, properties and audit settings.

Click on Advance button  to expand the window. Three tabs, Profile, Security and Audit Settings become visible.

Profile:                From the Profiles tab, select profile that are to be made available for documents stored in this

folder. For addition information, see 'Profiles and Properties' option.

Audit Trial:        Select the default events that you want to monitor from 'Audit Settings' tab for this folder.

Fields:                From the Field tab, select the file attributes and profile properties that you want to display in the

Details view for this folder. For more information, see Details View.

Click on Save button to create a folder.

Likewise, you can also create sub-folders within this folder.

Note:

The folder, by default, inherits the cabinet's properties. Changes can be made to the properties in Properties from Edit menu.

If you want to inherit the customize displayed field while creating a new folder, select the radio button next to 'Inherit from the parent folder'. By default 'Customize fields' is selected.
