This topic explains the Rights that you can assign to a User.

Docsvault software implements user authorization system to access data, using security options and rights.

Groups

Docsvault comes with two inbuilt system groups Administrators and Users and a sample group Managers

Administrators

The Administrators group allows a user to have complete control over Docsvault. Members of the Administrators group can configure settings, manage users and groups, and analyzing the data by audit query.

Users

The members of the Users group have limited rights by default. All users are at least members of this group.

You can customize the rights available in these groups or add new groups to combine different sets of rights. In this method, rather than assigning access rights to each user for each document, you can assign rights to a group, which consists of member users with similar roles. This makes it easier for an administrator or any authorized member to change permissions on any file and folder for many people at once.

Note:

Administrators and Users are system groups and hence cannot be deleted. Managers Group is a sample group and can be deleted.

For example:

If you grant only the "Accounts" group access to a cabinet or folder, only members of "Accounts" group have access to that data. The actions these individuals can perform on the data are dependent on the rights assigned to the "Accounts" group for that particular cabinet or folder.

Users

To successfully login to Docsvault, a user must be a member of at least one group. Users who are members of multiple groups inherit the permissions of the group with the highest access level.
