General settings enable you to set your own preferences for the general functioning of Docsvault

Check the boxes to set your own General preferences which are explained below:
| • | Start Docsvault on system startup: |

You can have Docsvault application started when you startup the system. Docvault application icon will be visible in the system tray
(at the extreme right on taskbar) as shown in above figure by a yellow colored arrow. You can startup Docsvault's main window by double clicking on the system tray icon.
| • | Send critical error details to Docsvault Technical Team: |

If encounter an error message box like the one shown above while working with Docsvault, you can click the Send button to send the error details to the Docsvault technical team. Your assistance will help us to fix any bug/error arising in the application.
| • | Automatically check for new versions and updates: |
Docsvault application will get automatically updated if you keep this option checked and provided you have the internet connection. If you want to update manually press Check Now button. Manual checking first confirms whether the Docsvault version on your system is older than that on website and then allows you to update, if found so.
| • | Integrate Docsvault in to MS Office to save files directly from Word, Excel, Powerpoint into Docsvault: |
Docsvault can be integrated with above mentioned Microsoft Office apps. Documents created in these apps can be saved directly into Docsvault by clicking File >> Save to Docsvault Home. Docsvault Home Edition Dialog will pop up as shown below. Select the location, enter the name and description and press the Save the button.
