Adding Tasks

There are two type of tasks that you can assign in Task Manager

 

Assigning a task to a user

 

Setting a Personal task

 

 

Assigning a task to a user

 

From 'Task Navigation Panel', select Task Out.
Click on the New Task icon to add a task.

                               Or

   Right click on task list panel to display the pop up menu. Click on New Task..
 

 

Assigning a Task Out

 

Enter task details in 'Task Properties'.
 

Task: Add a short description about the task to be performed in the 'Task' text box.

 

Due Date: From the drop-down calendar select due date of the task.

 

Priority: To set a high priority to a task, select 'High' radio button. A high priority task has icon prefixed to the task in the task list.

 

Select a user to whom the task is to be assigned from 'Task Allocation' section.

 

       ALL: Click 'ALL' to list all the users. From the list, select the users to whom the task is to be assigned.

 

       Favorites: Click 'Favorites' to list uses that you communicate most frequently with. From the list, select the member to whom the task is to be assigned. You can create and edit the Favorites list by clicking on the Edit link.                   

 

Note:

Favorite Users list can also be created by using 'Tasks' in 'Options' from 'Tools menu'. For more information, see Options - Tasks.

 

 

  The right side box will now display the list of users to whom the task is assigned.

 

Associated documents
 
Select the 'Associated Documents' check box to expand the New Task dialog box
Click on Add button to attach any documents along with the task.

 

Note:

Tasks with associated documents can also be created from the "Document Tasks" window in the right panel of the main Docsvault Explorer

 

 

 

Click on Save button to save the task.

 

This task will now appear in the 'Task In' panel of all the users you assigned this task to.

 

 

Setting a Personal task

 

From 'Task Navigation Panel', select Personal. This will allow you to set personal task.

 

Bring up the New Task dialog box by one of the following ways:

 
    Click on the New Task icon

               Or

    Right click on task list panel to display the pop up menu. Click on New Task.
 

 

Assigning a personal task

 

Enter task details in 'Task Properties'.
 

Task: Add a short description about the task to be performed in the 'Task' text box.

 

Due Date: From the drop-down calendar select due date of the task.

 

Priority: To set a high priority to a task, select 'High' radio button.

 

Set task 'Reminder'
If this option is checked a task reminder message box pops up on specified date and time.

 

Set 'Task Recurrence Pattern'

 

For example:

An appointment or task that occurs on a regular basis, such as a monthly meeting or expense report to be submitted. The reminders are specially helpful for performing necessary actions on any document in the repository - just add a task related to any document with appropriate reminder.

 

 

Note:

Recurring tasks appear one at a time in the task list. When you mark one occurrence of the task as complete, the next occurrence is automatically generated in the list.
 

 

Associated documents
 
Select the 'Associated Documents' check box to expand the New Task dialog box
Click on Add button to attach any documents along with the task.

Click on Save button to save the task
