Scanning Documents

Scanning document feature allows you to scan and store documents within Docsvault repository. Docsvault is designed to work with all TWAIN scanner.

 

Docsvault's inbuilt scanning window has all of the essentials features for good quality of text recognition. Built in image processing filters include, threshold, blank page recognition, batch scanning automatically straighten the pages and more.

 

Scanned documents can be quickly saved as searchable files such as TIFF, PDF, JPG, BMP, and PNG.

 

Scan - File format

 

 

Starting up scanning interface

 

Place the document in the scanner according to the scanner instructions.
On the File menu, select Scan Docs.

Or

  Click on icon from the toolbar.

Or

   From the tree view right click on a cabinet/folder. From the popup menu, select Scan Docs.

Or

   Right click on the empty space below the list of files in list view. From the popup menu, select Scan Docs.

Provide a file name and description.
Select the destination, where you want to save the scanned document in Docsvault.
Select an appropriate scan profile with predefined settings.
In 'Selected Scanner' section, select whether Docsvault scan interface or the scanners own interface should be used. Click on the checkbox next to 'Use scanner's interface' to use the scanner's own interface.
Click on 'Change Scanner' link to select the scanner from the list.
If you want to OCR the scanned document, select the checkbox next to 'OCR scanned files'
Set the parameters for scanning and then
Click Scan to scan the document.
